Download the driver from here (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/),
then you'll be able to add a MySQL DataSource

How do I connect to database server on Windows Vista (sorry I know, I wish it was 7 as well), as the application I am using to connect to the server is completely different to the one in class or am I doing something wrong.

The application is called the Microsoft ODBC Administrator.

How do is stop the player from continuously moving until it hits wall when I press any key?

I have the Poison, Tonic, Finishing line and Bad Guy working.

Does anyone know how to link a database on to a html file, I haven't seen the html file as yet but would it be a complicated process. Helping out someone at my work placement.

Often we use a scripting language like perl to interact with the database and to generate html output based on what it finds there.

Another alternative is to use JQuery.

In any case I'm going to guess that whatever they have in mind will be non-trivial.

In your game loop, the reading of keyboard input has become separated from the response to that input.

This means that in successive iterations of your loop your program is responding to an earlier key press.

Try placing your "if ($crt->key_pressed(){" within the game loop. I chose to close my bracket at the end of the my key command loop to ensure that my key was not constantly loaded to memory causing the problem you referred to.
